Okay, so a little about my husband and I. My name is Megan and my husbands name is John. We got married in 2005 and really didn't have a sense of direction for our lives but we had always known that we wanted our own business. We tried several different businesses and MLM's but nothing came from the heart and was truly enjoyable. However in 2008 we were introduced to a couple that owned a candle supply company that they had owned and operated for many years. After we became friends they decided to take us under their wings and show us the ropes of professional candle making. We started a company in Texas and operated it for several years and then due to several unforeseen family events we had to leave the candle business behind. Skip to several years later my husband began having some health issues that began limiting his mobility and causing severe pain. We started realizing that Texas, the place that we called home and swore we would never leave, started to seem not right for us anymore. We started really praying and asking God where He truly wanted us to be. So we began a several year search for a place to call home. By 2020 we basically had given up on trying to find our new home because nothing felt right. Then COVID hit and we thought for sure that we were never going to find our new home after my husband lost his job and his health took even more of a turn for the worse. Then it came, the answer we had been praying and waiting for, John was sitting at the computer one night and opened up a picture of the United States and told God, I am giving this one last change show me where to go, and John immediately looked over and saw West Virginia. He looked at me and said umm, Megan, what about West Virginia? I said really? We have never looked at the east coast before. We looked at photos and researched every aspect of the state and we knew immediately that is where we were supposed to be. So we made a 16 day trip to see all of the state in June 2021 and we both cried when we hit the state line and saw that beautiful "Welcome to West Virginia Wild and Wonderful" sign and knew immediately this was home. We went home after that trip and started the planning process to move. We officially moved to the Wild and Wonderful state in September 2022 and still can't believe that we actually call this place home. After moving here my husband was officially diagnosed with an autoimmune disease and he is trying out different treatments, but we knew immediately that him being able to work a normal job was not going to happen because there are days on end where he can't get out of the bed. So again we started praying and asking for the Lord's guidance and His answer was very unexpected, to start our candle business again. So we did just that and things just fell into place like we had never stopped those 10 years ago. Within two months we had purchased all the equipment, done all the necessary testing, started our LLC, and were participating in local craft shows and fairs. When God opens doors all I have to say is run don't walk. We are extremely excited to share our candles with everyone and help support other small businesses.
